Chambers steps up as Hill-Ling steps down at Hills
Former Allscripts and Pro Medicus chief David Chambers has been elected chairman of ASX-listed Hills Ltd, following the decision by long-term chair Jennifer Hill-Ling to step down after 16 years.
Ms Hill-Ling is the granddaughter of Hills co-founder Harold Hill Ling and daughter of the company’s long-term former CEO, Bob Hill-Ling.
Mr Chambers was most recently managing director of Allscripts’s Asia Pacific operations and he also had stints at Pro Medicus and Agfa. He is currently the chairman of ASX-listed Mach7 Technologies, which makes enterprise imaging technology for the healthcare industry.
Hills exited heavy manufacturing last decade and now concentrates on technology for the healthcare, communications and security sectors.
Ms Hill-Ling said in a statement that the board renewal process she instigated last year had laid a foundation for the company as it transitions toward health technology as a core business.
“As its major shareholder, the Hill-Ling family welcomes the changes and will continue to strongly support the company and its growth initiatives,” she said.
The company also has a new CEO in David Clarke, who was appointed in May.
